The public has said that the stagnant trees planted by the LTTE are being taken away by the forest lords.
Residents of the area have reported that many of the stagnant trees planted by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in Vavuniya area are being taken away by the Forest Department.
Forest officials of the Department of Forests and Forests, who had gone into the stagnant forest in the Mariyadikulam Indian Housing Scheme in the Pudukkudiyam, Arumugathan Pudukkulam Grama Niladhari Division yesterday, are stalking the trees.
Many of the stagnant trees that were planted by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and maintained by the Economic Development Corporation 20 to 30 years ago are now being taken down by the Forest Department.
When the general public in the area asked the Forest Department about this, the stagnant trees in the area belonging to the Forest Department were being shelled.
Officials of the Forest Department have informed the public that the old trees are being planted in order to plant new trees.
