The Education Ministry has decided to introduce an electronic grading system starting from the upcoming G C E Ordinary Level examination in December.

This system would be introduced since it has been revealed that some examiners have been providing ‘A’ grading for students who obtain 70 marks, although the cut-off mark to issue the grade is above 75, a senior ministry official said.

The official stated that, according to this system, examiners will not receive a result sheet which includes the total marks of a candidate.

Accordingly, a candidate’s answer sheet for Paper 1 and 2 of a subject, would be marked by two different invigilators and would have to be entered into a computer system that would issue the grading.
