Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa said the election manifesto placed before the people by him is not a mere promissory but a practical programme that can be implemented.
“The plans and policies enumerated in it will be fully implemented during the course of his Presidency if elected to power. It will also bring all sectors in the country into the correct track,” he said.
Gotabaya Rajapaksa was addressing a SLPP Presidential election rally in support of his candidature at Attanagalla on November 2.
Rajapaksa said his manifesto was aimed at strengthening the country’s security and developing the country economically. It was formulated in concurrence with academics, professionals and business experts and discussions with a cross section of the people. It has elaborated solutions to a plethora of problems faced by the people.
“Only I am capable of ensuring hundred percent security in the country’s,” he emphasised.
“A Cabinet of Ministers which acted according to the whims and fancies of foreign countries and organisations signed agreements, subjecting war heroes to international war tribunals and imprisoned intelligence officers were incapable of ensuring national security,” he said.
Rajapaksa said his manifesto included measures to rejuvenate the economy which was in shambles today.
