Media organizations in Sri Lanka have initiated the struggle to bring down the journalists’ killers before justice. Media organizations are also planning to make a complaint by submitting a complaint to the Police Commission on 29th of October.
Criminals unleash repression against the media and journalists are looking for free. They are still not punished.
Therefore, media organizations in Sri Lanka have decided to make a complaint to the Police Commissioner to ensure justice.
In a press release issued by media organizations in this regard,
Four years have passed since President Maithripala Sirisena took office. One of his promises is that criminals who unleash repression against journalists will be punished.
However, the good governance government did not give any conviction yet. Instead, it seems to be working to protect criminals.
Therefore, the police commission will be lodged at 10 am on 29th January to establish justice.
On the same day, at 10.30 pm, a consent will be handed over at the United Nations branch office in Colombo.
