Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB’s) Chief Physician Dr. Debashish informed that all members of the Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Team have tested negative and will have to pass a second test before being allowed in the bio-secured bubble in the team hotel.

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka cricketers and team management have all tested COVID-19 negative in their first test, ahead of entering the bio-bubble security for the home One Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka.

All players of the two teams have tested negative and will have to pass a second test before being allowed in the bio-secured bubble in the team hotel.

“Samples of members of both the Bangladesh team and touring Sri Lanka team were collected on Sunday. All have tested COVID-19 negative.”

“On Monday we collected samples for the second round of tests. Only those who are negative in both the tests will be allowed to enter the bio-bubble in the hotel.”

Meanwhile, the two teams will undergo a third test a day ahead of the first ODI of the series. The three-match ODI series between Sri Lanka and hosts Bangladesh is scheduled to begin on Sunday (23).

The second and third game of the series will be played on May 25 and 28 respectively. All the matches will be played at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Team will play an Intra-Squad 50-over practice match ahead of the ODI series.

Bangladesh will play the practice game on Thursday at the BKSP Ground 4 while Sri Lanka will play their match on Friday at the BKSP Ground 3.
