The Cabinet has decided to suspend the import of even a limited number of motor vehicles considering the situation in the country, the Prime Minister’s Media Division said in a press statement on Monday.
The Cabinet meeting was held on Monday via Zoom and it was chaired by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The PM’s Media Division said the Ministers brought the attention of the Cabinet on the need to further restrict the import of vehicles considering the current situation and the country’s financial position. Accordingly, measures have been taken to suspend the previous proposal to import a limited number of motor vehicles.
