Grace period to settle water bills

It has been decided to grant water consumers a grace period to settle their water bills, Minister of Water Supply Vasudeva Nanayakkara said.

The Minister said that a grace period of a month will be allocated for consumers who unable to pay their bills due to travel restrictions.

Nanayakkara mentioned this addressing a press conference held in Colombo.

He said, “A suitable amount of time will be given [for settling bills] after travel restrictions end. About a month. There is also difficulty in reading meters.”
