CEB owes the CPC Rs. 80 Billion; CPC Chairman hopes CEB will settle dues soon

The Ceylon Electricity Board owes the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation approximately Rs. 80 Billion for obtaining fuel for electricity generation.

CPC Chairman Sumith Wijesinghe speaking to News 1st said the sum is due from March 2019.

“At present CEB does not require a large amount of fuel as hydro-power generation is at a high. There we believe the CEB is making profits at this time,” he told News 1st.

He hopes the CEB would settle the dues as soon as possible.
