Madhu Church feast on July 2 sans devotees

Only 30 persons can participate in the service to be held at the Our Lady of Madhu Church in Mannar on July 2, Mannar Bishop Rt.Rev.Emmanuel Fernando said.

He requested devotees from other parts of the country not to visit the church this year.

This was mentioned by the Bishop subsequent to a special discussion held at the Joseph Vaz Hall in Mannar and Mannar Government Agent Nandani Stanley De Mel and Security Forces and health officials participating.

Although the festival period of Our Lady of Madhu Church commenced with the ceremony of hoisting flags on 23, walking in the open areas and holding processions and other parallel events were prohibited due to the pandemic.

The service at Our Lady of Madhu Church to be held on July 2 has been restricted to the service within the Church and only 30 persons can participate including clergy.
