Hungary concession loan: SL announces 4 new flyover projects

Four flyovers are to be constructed under the finance corporation agreement signed between the Governments of Sri Lanka and Hungary.

Sri Lanka and Hungary have entered into a finance corporation agreement to provide concessionary finance facilities through the Exim Bank of Hungary for the implementation of infrastructure development projects in the country.

The Government said the Kohuwala and Getambe flyovers construction projects are being implemented under the said project.

Additionally, the Road Development Authority has identified the necessity of implementing projects in order to provide solutions for the traffic congestion in four other areas.

Flyovers are to be built to address traffic congestion between the Muththettugala railway Cross Road and Hiripitiya junction, Pasyala junction, Negombo- Maristella junction, and Thalawathugoda junction.

Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers has granted approval to the proposals submitted by the Minister of Highways Johnston Fernando to construct four flyovers in the said places. (NewsWire)
