
Sri Lanka is currently hit by a shortage of forex and essential items including fuel required for power generation. Rolling power interruptions have been gravely affecting the day-to-day life of the general public over the past few weeks.
Against this backdrop, record ten-hour power cuts were imposed today – the longest interruptions to the electricity supply the country experienced in 26 years.
Meanwhile, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has approved 13-hour interruptions for tomorrow. – ada derana
